Thread regarding Ford layoffs

@bq You are correct. I saw several meetings (at least 10) in November/December at the Glass House with a sign for orientation for new hires. Each meeting had about 50-100 people in the room.

To all of the posters wanting to get fired, stop acting like a child and do the company, your coworkers, and yourself a big favor and find another job.

You will be much happier. A bigger bonus is that you will have all that extra time to use on fun stuff besides whining on this blog.

Actually, the vast majority of us really don't how miserable you are working at Ford.

Can't come soon enough. Already looking though. Would be just accelerating the inevitable so more than ready if this comes about. So ready. Put me on that PIP or whatever and it will be hard to hide my smile as I consider it a 90 day vacation while I continue to job search.

Look at Sam's objectives. Lots of hints toward reorganization and cuts. Why else would he be hired out of retirement?

@bq
When there are mass reductions, there is beaucoup paperwork associated with it. If December HR hirings were the highest in a decade, it seems highly likely that it would be due to planned mass reductions. Once HR is finished with all the dirty work, they will ultimately be terminated afterwards. When they have served their purpose, there will be no reason to keep them.

Amanda Goodall on X today:

Ford just logged its highest December HR hiring in a decade....

It's not growth hiring.
It appears to be workforce governance ahead of 2026 execution.

Possible actions:
Phased white-collar reductions
Role eliminations via reorg
Attrition acceleration
Geographic or function-specific cuts

Execution likely post-January, staggered, not one headline layoff.

Watching!

We’re just told our LL4 will be hiring 100 people, apparently we are taking all the Canadian work.

If the "Bottom 10" includes all the miserable poster' who hate working at the company and despise its very exitance, then let the layoffs begin!

They brag (post) about doing nothing at work, su-k the energy out of those around them, and don't have the backbone to leave given their minimal skillset.

Best of luck, the 4800 is 10% of the salaried workforce.
