I'm newer to OI... how do they typically let people know that they have been laid off? Is it a last minute meeting? Do you get an meeting invite at the beginning of the day? Are you told individually or is it in groups? Is it your manager sharing the news or is it typically HR? Like all of us- I am nervous!

I was laid off from UHC right before Covid, and I didn’t have a meeting scheduled. My boss’s boss pinged me asking to come into her office, and my boss was in there with her. I knew immediately what it was.
My coworker was called at 9:15am on a thursday. Was not allowed to work the two weeks. Just gone.
Its almost always on a Thursday with a last minute meeting
I think someone else is handling them for my team. I suspect I will be let along with my direct reports. Some may be retained/reorged. I've seen my leaders, peers, and staff let go in previous waves. Good luck everyone!
It can happen multiple ways. Group RIF with you muted or 1:1 with your manager. They will try to do it as early as possble in the morning.
Usually it’s a teams meeting invite with everyone else who is being let go. The invite is sent the morning of the layoff. Those who are not laid off will also get a meeting invite to let them know others had been laid off. Your last day will be 2 weeks later.
