Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Zero trust

Pretty bad when a company doesn’t trust its own employees, managers, senior directors that everything is monitored—-in excel lol

Yes, excel spreadsheets! lol sometimes even MS Forms.

Let’s suffocate the employees and ridicule their every move then wonder why the business is failing. People who micro manager have no business as managers, more so, no business as a director, senior director, especially the VP positions. All this goes to deaf ears. Let’s make another “anonymous” employee survey.

Many of the individuals making the most consequential decisions would struggle to be hired by any reputable organization, as their experience and qualifications would not withstand serious scrutiny. Positions that offer six-figure compensation for remote “leadership” conducted from a couch, often limited to superficial oversight via Teams, are neither sustainable nor transferable.

The reality is that such roles demand far less than a full workload, and outside of this insulated Hertz, the market would not reward that level of contribution 6 figure salaries.

@sx after I left I just omitted my 2 years as Sr Director at Hertz and told my new employer that I was caring for a sick relative. Indeed, having Hertz on your resume is now a major liability to find employment at reputable major firms. I avoid telling folks I worked there as they would always bring a story to complain how they got ripped off or no cars available.

@b0 our resumes now reflect a company that is embarrassing.
No one wants to hire someone who worked in a company that is ripping people off and in the news every other week.
Good luck to all those people who are trying to build a true career.
You’re hurting your reputation for working 5”there. Might as well say you worked for Enron: same as.

They expect you to know everything under the sun when you start and won’t teach you then when you ask questions or make a mistake it’s the end of the world

Left Hertz many years ago when I saw the writing on the wall. 100% of my coworkers with serious brain power are also gone. What is left is mediocre individuals most that won’t challenge the latest management in power. This company is so doomed and it’s clear with the horror stories I read all over social media.

This is a direct result from poor management of previous staff who made serious errors that went unnoticed till it was too late. Remember when we had cars from CA going to FL and vice versa? A simple drag error caused that and it cost us a decent amount of money for something that shouldn't have happened. Though I have no sympathy for leadership here because they got rid of talented analysts because their salaries were too high (what a joke). Leadership thinks they can pay people below their own pay scales and get top tier quality work and it doesn't work that way. You get what you pay for. Find out what the actual salary range is for your role and you might be surprised to find you are below it and so is everyone else except the leadership who don't want you to know you are underpaid.
