Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I am jumping over here from usbank (on this site, not actually in person switching jobs), and, yes while USB is much smaller, it is just as bad over there. Going downhill. The comp cycle numbers we are getting are a joke. A really bad year, worst year I have seen besides 2020 covid.

Banks, wow. One could only imagine how well a bank might do if it got an actual leader that people feel safe with, can trust, and inspires. But it's all lead with the stick not the carrot.

2.5% raise, 10% bonus (6% less than target). Boss also got laid off.

I remember starting out years ago in the banking industry and salary increases were above 8% each year. Bonuses 20%. I don't think Citi has breached the 3% raise for about 10 years now. Not sure what Jane's raise calculates out to but the only way to afford her is take salaries away from everyone else. Like literally fire people and pay the rest no more than they already get. Her recent bonus could pay for everyone that has been let go so far and then some. She is the biggest money problem Citi has.

Imagine starting a career out of college and then never earning a raise that is half the inflation rate.
