Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

So many rejection emails

I'm starting to lose hope that anybody is actually hiring.

Don’t lose hope took me 6 months yes it was disheartening and at times depressing but I’ve been in my new role for a year now an honestly life is a million times better. My stress levels dissappeard I’m off ant depressants and I have an amazing work life balance. Stick with it the rewards are worth the short term pain.

Keep applying daily. It’s a job finding a job. But companies are hiring, you just need one of these to work out. Best of luck to you.

Having BNY on a resume does help. I met a number of recruiters in 2025 that either previously worked for BNY or know people that had worked for BNY. Few had anything good to say about their firsthand experience with BNY or what they had heard about BNY.

Make new friends by talking what a sh!t show BNY is.

I thought about it too but it may just bring one to round 2 or 3 to surface. I just hope BNY will not become the next Enron. Then will definitely be a liability to have it on your resume.

It is so frraking sad how a few people at the very top can destroy a great company.

Helpful Hint….
Do not mention BNY on your resume. Just put ‘Current employed at a large global custody bank’.
And at the bottom, further details and references to be furnished on request.
I think have BNY on there handicaps some of us going for finance and operations positions.
This place is toxic s..t house and many know it.

Keep at it. Took me about five months of very consistent jobhunting - I set & kept a goal of spending two hours per week very focused, job searching and applying.

Seemed like nothing was ever going to happen for me and then suddenly I had 2 solid job offers & another I was in the final stages of interviewing for but decided to remove myself from consideration.

Rejected and devalued..form a focus group of folks searching for job and share intel,I know folks laid off last year formed a strong network and couple of them got jobs..Keep trying, more power to you and God Bless..
