Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Struggling to stay sharp at work

Lately it feels like my brain just isn't firing the way it used to, which is far from ideal in the time of layoffs. I'm slower, more tired, and small things keep slipping through the cracks. I have made some changes and seen a doctor, but progress is uneven. I feel like I'm signing my layoffs notice myself.

You’re still working? Fu-k em. Have a little over 30 days left and enjoying every minute of this

It not you not anything you have or have not done. We’re all feeling this way and it is going to get worse (a lot worse I’m afraid) before it gets better.

Hang in there!!

@OP I empathize but this is the wrong forum to address your issue. It could be stress related or it could be a medical condition. Don’t sit by while this continues. Search for a professional that can actually help.

I’ve never tried the Employee Assistance Program so I can’t recommend them but you should look into it.

Another option is seeing a functional medicine practitioner or a neurologist

Good luck!

This place just pulls you into the upside down. Offering all the best benefits and great pay only to keep you stressed out each and every day. Trying to perform at a high level while also constantly stressing if you are going to get riffed. The only way to survive here is to be buddy buddy with someone. Majority of id--ts get promoted and stay here because they kiss a-s and play the corporate game. All the time spent here and you actually lose knowledge. Some Vteamers are smart. But others think they are and they don’t know anything. You step back out into the real world and you will learn and be way more sharp. No point of stressing out. It is all out of our control but life is way better outside of the Big Red. We all just get su-ked into the great pay and benefits. Its a way to keep us all here until they are done with us and kick us to the curb.

Your good. We had people in our group like that and they are still around while others who were better than they were are gone. Go figure
