@ab been here since the early 90s bell Atlantic mobile. The problem was money. The company made so much money it really wasn't tracked and if you failed 1,2,3 times you throne more money at it.

This could be an inside job to give Cowboy Dan the impetus to get rid of even more people.

Surprised he hasn’t found an AI prompt capable of restoring service.

@a9 … and then you woke up from your dream!

I was at VZW since 2010 (before the Verizon acquisition, before Lowell, and before DEI). The company did nonsensical reorgs every single year! It was shocking to me because they would put people into positions that they were completely unqualified to fill. And I really mean completely unqualified.

The employees who had been there longer than me acted like it was no big deal. To them it was a normal phenomenon like cold weather in winter.

"Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. "

Cue footage of said "engineers" being a room full of screeching monkeys, each wearing a nametag saying, "Powered by AI", with half of them bouncing off the walls, destroying the place, while the other half is asleep in a catatonic pile in the corner.

I can see DEI Directors trying to find the expert to type up a powerpoint so they can report what happened. Only one problem.. the expert has left the build and only Pronouns are left!

"Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly."

Cue footage of said "engineers" being a room packed full of dirty, disheveled, screeching monkeys, each wearing a nametag that says, "Powered by AI"; with half of them jumping around and bouncing off the walls, while the other half is motionless, in a catatonic pile, asleep.

In one of the all hand meeting
Someone asked why our plan is the MOST expensive when compared to others
The executive replied.
It is because we had the best network, and we can charge premium, it is a premium plan

My former boss who is incompetent and an inveterate liar but who acts like he’s the most knowledgeable person in the world was transferred into core network design after the layoff. I chuckled at the thought that his tenure started with an outage. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!

Yep people out in the Carolina’s, DC and California.

This is what happens when you layoff experienced workers for A.I.

Who didn’t see this coming? Haha

@VerizonNews on X: “ We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. We understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for the inconvenience.”
