Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Downward spiral

Next is time tracking… but again. Rules for thee, not for me..

Fk all the execs bringing this sht forward for control. It’s not about productivity or collaboration. It’s control.

If you show your managers that you have contempt and distrust for them, they will quickly return the same for you. This once again demonstrates that there is lack of work ethic in this company and the petulant rotten deadwood needs to be removed .

@jg yes this!all of this is part of their smoke and mirrors game to distract from the fact that they fked up our company and they have no good ideas. Weak and pathetic

LT is crazy to think RTO and offshoring is going to change the company’s bottom line. The lack of strategy and decision making is keeping the company at the bottom. Lack of trust in employees breeds resentment and pushback. Employees work for a paycheck but they work harder for a company that cares about them and shows it.
The company has been in difficult situations before but still treated employees with dignity. Not the case anymore.

@ej
They won't publish minimum 6 hours per day because people will stay for 6 hours and 1 minute. :)

There's supervisor training next week to introduce the new PMP process. I wonder if they'll discuss whatever Big Brother surveillance program intended to ensure people are attending their Teams meetings in the office versus at home?

Yes, all about control, giving new leaders a chance to puff out their feathers, some from behind their keyboard, and make everyone beneath them bend the knee. I have to now fill out several new forms to communicate with LT, even though we spent millions creating target process and entries in it. Why can’t our LT learn how to use target process instead of creating so much redundancy, confusion, and decelerating delivery of results

What if you have an all-day offsite meeting no where near the office? Lots of examples with all-day meetings with a local EPC or local vendor shop visit that don't require business travel or an exception code.

It’s my favorite album. And the last track is just about right.

We’ve already got badge reports in my function. If you don’t badge in or have a workday code to account for your non- badge day, you better be prepared to make up that time somehow. When we asked why Manila doesn’t have to do it, its because they can all “see each other” in the office. The two days a week that they have to be in the office that is. I guess they’re such great collaborators that they can manage it remotely.

I think it’s the time your butt hits the seat until you stand up. I mean it’s impossible to do work away from a legit desk nowadays.

And by desk, I mean random ‘work point’ or whatever the fk name they came up with.

“Work for 9 hrs!! And do it in the cafe!! On a small screen!! WITH NOISE all around. And you’d better thank us for it!”

Are we talking tracking office arrival exit times, computer time or both?

They may have the data, but time tracking isn’t going on the dashboard anytime soon. Legal issues with sharing that out, will continue to be very isolated usage of it for firing coffee badgers.
