Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Housecalls Scheduling?

My schedule is only full over the next 2 weeks. After that, it starts to be 1/2 full at most. How is everyone else’s? I’m guessing I’m on of the ones being laid off? Texas FNP.

@4n3 what state are you in?

@4n3 All I can say is in PA it seems to be a similar situation for some APCs. Response from CTM was per last meeting (organization update) zones and assignments are still being reviewed.

Update: Any other Housecall APC had their members cancelled after their last date of their county assignment? A couple days ago my Zones assignment went from zero to 1 and now back to zero again. All the members I had past 2/22 have been cancelled and schedule is clear.

@44f why do you haven’t been updated? January metrics?

@44f I think last I checked it was reviewed towards the end of last year.

Is anyone else concerned that QVC hasn’t been updated for 2026 yet? Red flag or am I paranoid?

Entering into another week with no answers and lots of anxiety wondering if this is my last. Hooray

@3t9 hmm interesting. Wonder if it’s just to keep some APCs around to travel in busier areas for a few more months to then lay off. Or just keep as travelers. But good to know you have annual review scheduled too. Really wonder what’s going to happen and when.

@3t2 NH APC here. The email for year end just came out Friday afternoon. Our whole team got the email. Even those with no zone/county schedule beyond 2/19. As noted by another post, they need to proceed as normal, legally.
I was also asked on Friday if I would consider travel to other states I am licensed in given my light schedule here in NH. Not sure if there is even work in the other states from what folks are saying. Will see what they come back with. I might be safe for another month but who knows after that!

@3sw I agree but it also seems like CTMs don’t know much more than we do. CTMs seem to be doing the standards they always do - year in reviews, team meetings, ride alongs, etc as they are told/expected to do.
To the NH APC with limited schedule on here - do you have a year in review scheduled?

I know they are saying here next layoffs 02/19 but also wouldn’t be surprised if they do it before the team meeting again.

@3sw Disagree. Review would be needed to protect them from wrongful termination or some other claims of similar sort. Example, no issues with performance or anything like that that employee did not know about. Simply reduction in force/job elimination. They do not deviate from established business processes.

@3s1 Could it be that if your yearly review evaluations are scheduled and proceeding as planned in this month, you are safe from being laid off in February? In Jan, our CTM mentioned they needed to get done by Feb 20. Im thinking that if any Housecalls APCs were to be let go in Feb, there would be no need to go through the year in review meeting…

@3s1 I am wondering how this is going to play out. If most people end at March, then maybe some of us are safe?

Cara’s newsletter said 290k visits completed in January. 290,000 x 12 months =3,480,000. They said their budget is 2,850,000. That leaves them with 2,560,000 visits budgeted left for 11 months. So they obviously aren’t planning on hitting that many each month going forward.
2,560,000 / 11 months = 232,727 visits each month. About a 57,000 difference from Jan. If each APC saw 100 people a month, that would be 570 decrease in staff.

Even if I’m not laid off, They way they have treated us and kept us in the dark through all this has placed a bitter taste in my mouth.

@3pg No one seems to have counties/zones assigned past March at this point. It does not look good for those who do not have county/zones assigned past February 19/20 as that is one of the posted lay off weeks. The next predicted lay off after that is March 19/20.
We did get an email from the CTM on Friday to schedule year end reviews though.

@3pj yes historically they are flexible with hours. I know many APCs that have bounced from 20,30,40 hrs etc in their time at housecalls. Currently can’t at all though. Like another poster said they are going to schedule us as much as possible for busy season and then probably fire a bunch more off. And not let APCs change hours so then forced into quitting potentially.

@3p6 Had no idea it was possible if you’re salaried 40 hr weekly.

@3p6 that’s because they are going to use you to make money and then once the members have had their yearly visit they will kick you to the curb

Does anyone have counties scheduled past March?

by

Post ID: @3pg+1kewsnvv5

@3p4 like example if you wanna go from 40 hrs to 30 hrs before you could just tell your manager and it would go into effect. They aren’t letting anyone do that now. Whatever you work hours wise you are stuck with until they allow it again.

@3n9 can you please clarify what do you mean by no change in hours allowed? Like 4 vs 5 days per week or go from full to part time? TY

@3my Thanks for clarifying this. I checked the portal under Zones assigned and it indicates zero (it used be 1) and for future/current assignments I only have my county assigned until 2/22 even though I have members scheduled past this date (very few in March). It is odd. I'm in CA. Maybe an indicator of getting cut.

@3n8 I have also heard no changing in hours allowed. If you want to increase or decrease hours, they won’t let you, even though before it was super easy and you could do it at any time.

@3n5 My friend has member’s scheduled in March, only a couple, But in the Availability drop down on the Provider Portal her county assignments have been removed past 2/19. Another peer asked to have her hours decreased and the answer was NO. No changes to hours until March are being allowed.
We have not had any notice about reviews either.

My county assignment in CA still has members scheduled past Feb 19. In March there are a few scattered days that have a couple members scheduled. I'm wondering if Housecalls APCs still have their one to one meeting (year in review evaluation) scheduled already for February? If I remember correctly, Feb 20 is the deadline for managers to complete these evals.

@3n1 that is crazy. I had over 100 member scheduled for January. In AZ. However end of February and March barely have anyone scheduled so far

@3n0 New Hampshire. All members in both my counties have been canceled in 2026 except the large retirement group plans that originate out of state. I saw 11 members in January and have 4 scheduled for February.

@3mt Not member’s scheduled. In the provider portal look at your Availably tab where your county assignments are. Do you have county assignments past 2/19? One of my peers went to schedule time off and found her county assignments removed after 2/19.

@3ms mine is the same as it has been all week. Scheduled up to the 19th, then nothing for rest of February and about 5 days scheduled half full for March. Did something change or is yours empty?
