Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

I’m curious, what’s the current vibe of teams and offices right now?

I’m specifically looking for news about changes to Dunwoody/Ravinia and Bellevue… are they still serving free weekly lunches? Are the Data and AI teams doing alright?

@ea False. We are a deeply data informed, AI-enabled organization.

@d2
Damn, I didn't want to say anything but you sir/ma'am made my day with that comment 🤣. I used to be in this group before TMO laid me off and it was just a mismanaged mess of we'll let a vendor do what we promised and blame them for any setbacks. That ORG is a blackhole no matter which VP is in charge of it. No disrespect to the current staff but if Srini were to slash this entire group and its VP John Blanchard, then there would be nothing of value lost (except jobs).

@at Agreed. I had a feeling my notice was coming when I got laid off in '23, so I had cleaned/sanitized my work laptop of all personal information a month prior to the notice. On the day of the layoff I was given 2 hours to clean out. Took me all of about 10 minutes. Hung out saying goodbyes for another 10 and was gone.

AI team ? Oh you mean the old Ronke cost center that burns money and produces nothing that works ? Only time IT is in the office is Wednesday around noon for the feed trough ( hope you like vegan or Indian because that's all you'll get)

Legere said ans stayed wherever it took to hit his pay day and in the end his promise of no head count reductions was a farce, took his pay day and uses social media to store his ego in empty homes. Bragging about giving away a wizz dnibble every year compared to the ridiculous compensation her got as a figure head. Whats the thread count at trumps hotel.

IT and sales got really bloated since the merger while delivering less. Almost as bad as the Kaiser era where half the day was meetings about other meetings.

@OP Dunwoody/Ravinia used to be a hot bed. Went down hill after all the leadership left/ termed and the facilities man disappeared from one day to the next. Now its hot garbage.

@ae Vz shut off outgoing email for those on Notification Day to prevent loss of CPNI. People with resumes, etc on business computers lost access to save them. Send that stuff out NOW, just dont be stupid and send business info - you deserve what will happen if you do!

It's especially tough when contrasting with the John Legere era. Many longtime employees (and customers) remember him as a more visible, employee-focused leader who built the "Un-carrier" vibe and made people feel valued, even if the Sprint merger brought its own massive pain and job losses.

The current leadership (post-Legere, with transitions to Mike Sievert and now Srini Gopalan) has shifted toward more corporate streamlining, which can feel colder and more profit-driven.

Spend your time collecting data for resume. History if raises and reviews. Org charts. Etc etc.

Vibe everywhere is quite bad. Everyone knows they were lied to by Srini and others.
