Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Buy your new DXC clothing yourself…. Help us get our new brand out there

It never ceases to amaze me how DXC expect staff to buy their own DXC logo’d workwear if your manager doesn’t have a budget to buy. Add into the cost of shipping from the USA as they are ‘The Supplier’ and the cost is ridiculous circa £40 for a polo shirt.

What planet do these people come from

Picture that: DXC is a publicly traded company. Invented/invested -- yet again -- another logo that nobody asked for (especially not the shareholders). Rather than giving you a piece of clothing or an item for FREE, DXC is asking employees to PURCHASE it. This place will do anything to cut costs on employees. Even selling clothing and items that have NOTHING to do with the mission statement of this company.

This is the weirdest flex I've seen a company do in years and that's putting it loosely.

If you paint your car with dxc color and logo you get 2 percent rise.

If you get a dxc tatoo on your face, you get 10 percent rise

Why would you wear anything with the branding or logo on it? It’s embarrassing to promote a brand that is such a loser! Surely you don’t want to be perceived as a loser! I used all my merch issued years ago to wash my car.

Why would you pay DXC an fee to wear their clothing, and then do unpaid advertising for them.

Just shows how deluded the management are, and how badly they treat employees.

If they want free advertising they should give a free item like any normal company does.

I’ve just watched the replay as I missed it yesterday and that was one of many things I picked up on, especially as Jamie Morgan suggested we ‘lean into’ the new brand clothing when visiting client sites and not use the old logo stuff.
Normal business shirt and chinos for me as I’ve got far too many old logo painting and gardening t-shirts to need any more.
I was also deeply impressed by DA’s note that the merit rises they’ve given to the sub L7’s is between 2- 4%, surprised it was that much.
I was quite impressed with the new offices and demo centre and only proves that there is money floating around somewhere.

They certainly talk the talk. But asking us to invest time and our own money in a company which hasn't invested anything in it's staff in years is to be expected from this company and shows more of the same. But why would you want a DXC polo shirt! I don't tend to admit who I work for. People either say who, or oh you poor ba----d. He did admit he'd had to go out and change his wardrobe. But it's probably on t least £300k a year more than I am, so can well afford the makeover. Meanwhile I have ditched all my works clothes on the assumption I'm never going to work in an office again.

I couldn't believe they were plugging "merch" on the UKI townhall yesterday. Derek had just told us there will be no merit increases for the foreseeable future and then they tell us how great it would be to buy over-priced cr-p with the DXC logo. Unbelievable!
