Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Middle level management at risk of layoff

Expecting all legacy products to be wiped out and most middle managers to be let go. Director counts will be reduced.

Legacy products are the best place to rest and vest. No customers and features to take care.

Many of the legacy products have not released anything new for more than 20 years. The developers and other resources on these products probably think "milking" the legacy product as side hustle since there is no work. Many may have a main job other than the current especially if you are remote. If not remote, then just fill the calendar with one social meeting a day in office for mental health.

Legacy lol - still bringing in billions. If only Fusion was good enough to compete with Workday you might have more traction

An infinite number of monkeys on infinite keyboards will eventually type the complete works of Shakespeare.

Unfortunately, that’s not what you need.

You wish!!
Maybe hope and pray
But they will find a way to stay all while turning useful and good ideas into mush
Their talent lies in managing up

Correction on that last post:

So... you imagine the woman that owns the website you are trying to break into is your micro manager? Really? Seriously, you have issues..... I have IP addresses. I have read that they can sometimes be tracked through VPNs. Wonder if that's true?

Wondering if my micro manager boss will be one to be on the riff schedule. She leads by an iron fist.. Nice person, but her management style is scary… Peace and love.

There is no real definition of "middle" when divisions have a couple of SVPs, a VP, a Sr. Director and maybe a few "Directors" who are glorified Sr. Managers, and a handful of Managers who manage a team, all reporting to at least one SVP who who manages one VP who manages all the other letters of the alphabet.

Expecting 2000-3000 people will be let go this Qtr,
where Development areas in Legacy = 1300
Sales = 900
across geographies

Oracle managers can easily and inexpensively be replaced by AI agents.

What is a value of micromanaging the team? After many years of micromanagement what can be added to the resume in the skills list - stalking? 😃

That’s a great news after many years of enormously growing micromanagement.
The middle level management really does nothing instead of disturbing employees completing their tasks.
