lol, we were just talking about this exact topic today in office... Dell wants people RTO due to bullsht reasons such as "we feel in person collaboration works best!" or whatever tf they said. Last Friday for example, I being a good little boy went in and it was myself and literally ONE other person - whom I don't hardly know, or work with but is in my org - and we left after an hour.
Today, a handful of us were talking about it and it's ridiculous. It doesn't make any sense for the orgs (my org) who are spread across the globe to go in 5 days/week. It takes me an hour to get to the office, another 10 mins to find a GD parking spot, another 5 minutes just to get to the front door, and another 5 minutes to get to a desk. Then another 5 minutes to connect to VPN and be 100% functional again, only to have one other person on my team be there lol.. So, that's almost 90 minutes of time that could be spent working... from home.
The only reason I quit coffee badging is because I actually DO enjoy being in the office for a few hours (2 hours) but, also because it is super easy for execs to run a Splunk query to find out who is ACTUALLY going INTO the office and not just badging in. I don't believe they will ever enforce a policy that says you "must" be in office for xyz hours until/unless people start bi--hing about how "well I'm in office 8 hours a day and xyz is only there for 3 hours."
Oh, and those in Bangalore are only required to go in 3 days/week for some fkn reason...
