Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

No layoffs, just no benefits instead

There should have just been layoffs for underperformance. Hiring someone from McDonald’s, during the pandemic, and sending them back because they never break 30% kpis… just layoff people who don’t work. Why do I have to pay for it?!

It all matters on the SVP, who he/she thinks is loyal to him/her. Whoever is not loyal, performance doesn't matter in fidelity loyalty and perception matters the most. SVP are the sc-m who makes these layoff decisions

@b2 , as if the fat and cancerous cells in a body appealing to "cellularity" of the healthy functioning cells, the healthy cells, the body and the doctor think otherwise: getting rid of the non-functioning roles is for the humanity of the working people.

Why do you assume non-performers would be the target of any layoff. Maybe just the opposite…top performers get laid off as a result of political changes in leadership and because their exceptional performance resulted in compensation via shares and now they are expensive. I wonder if any loyalty that might have existed in the past is gone in favor of cheaper labor and/or making way for the DEI cr-p or whatever the latest useless HR crew come up with. Hires from McDonalds (or like characterization) might be far better employees as they know where they came from and are appreciative of the opportunity. This compared to the sn-t nose snowflakes who cry about everything and constantly complain about being some sort of victim. Be thankful for what you have and maybe keep in your own lane.

@OP What benefits are you referring to?

So much easier to say when it’s about someone else, and behind a screen no less. I’d imagine anyone with an ounce of humanity would opt for no layoffs. Is it really one or the other? Benefits or layoffs? Does anyone within fidelity actually get that choice? There is not one single person choosing everything that happens here. One person is unhappy because they sit on zoom calls all day so they complain about that. Then it’s not long before they get survey questions about whether they think their coworkers should be laid off to hire coworkers in their location. And then on and on it goes.
