@179 I am a low level employee from EHQ too, and I remember this - he is calm, cool, willing to listen, agree with all of that, then he finds a role in WHQ, grows to a even more prominent role, happy for him, but then the layoffs come, and all he has to say about it is I know I grew from EMEA but you know , name in the front matters not at the back, our strategy was to go global and EMEA was cut, of all the leaders present there , I expected him to be the last person to say this to EHQ tech team while they were still digesting the 93% cut in EHQ, if there was one person I expected to fight for EMEA in that position it was him, so I am not sure if I'll trust his calm and cool personality any more

I’m a low‑level ETW from EHQ and I’ve known RA since his first day here, right after he transitioned from Burberry. I’ve been around here long enough to understand how the politics in this place work.. plenty of talk, not always much action and he walked straight into leading a group that often preferred sweet‑talking and showcasing wins rather than surfacing real issues.

Despite that, he’s always been calm, polite, and genuinely willing to listen. I’ve spoken directly with him about my concerns and he consistently took action and addressed pain points wherever he could. But one person can’t change Tech if Tech isn’t willing to change itself. Transparency and dropping the political games are on all of us.
He’s just one guy, and he needs everyone’s support to succeed.

I’m genuinely happy for RA.

VA is the only sane person. Look at who chose to lead Tech. RA is a great choice, calm, mature and great technical leadership

Politics is so disgusting here with Product & Program mafia driving fake numbers - every year AOP is a sh-t show with glaring gaps and yet no accountability from Product empires of VPs, SDs, Ds don’t do any real product or program work.

this is exactly why we have been limping along like a dinosaur in the industry: B players hire C players, C players hire D players, and suddenly you're stuck with a roster of fossils running the show.

Enter the "overlooked" C-player CEO who swoops back in like a retired boomerang, props up a bunch of fellow C-listers (looking at you, CS and VA), and now those same mediocrities are busy promoting straight-up D-grade talent like RA.

Fully agree with @nepo, this is our classic operating procedure at Nike, where old guard just keeps recycling each other. Tech always su-ked at Nike and they can’t get it right.

Nothing to see here, just what “leaders” do at Nike. VA is slobbering over his favorite bootlicker. Tech leadership? Cute. Neither of these clowns could tech their way out of a paper bag.

A situation well described as the blind leading the blind

After failed external hires you knew they were going internal. So, out of everyone, who did you think it would be? RA is well liked and the best candidate. Why would DA want it if he has been there before and did not work out? Who else would be good?

Bottom line is no matter who was picked everyone would say the same thing. If they went external would complain needed to be internal. Yet all internal people nobody is good enough.

Your alternative if you are upset there is a job market to try to explore and see how it works.

I don't know anything about RA. What's people's thought on him? I'm surprised it's not DA given DA has taken on similar responsibilities before MD joined.
