Every senior leader I have ever interacted with at this joke of a company is the most incompetent, dense person I’ve ever encountered. Is there a prerequisite for senior leadership to have no idea what their underlings do on a daily basis or what the central concepts of their roles are? Sure we are all accustomed to leaders being out of touch but the sheer stupidity and inability to understand simple ideas is astounding. Humana is a truly tragic company. It is so embarrassing to work here.

I'm not sure which sector you are in, but over in IT/Tech most of my leaders are former senior developers. They aren't incompetent, not by any means. I did have one who wasn't techy and she micromanaged horribly, glad I am out from under her.

Was there 9 years before departing. Observed that Sr leaders all had 1 thing in common. Cronyism. Leaders are in that position because they agree to stay silent when statistics for reimbursement from CMS are “massaged” and made to reflect what benefits the company. Then everyone gets a bonus for improving the rates and the gravy train goes on.
The reason the senior leaders are clueless is because the c suite loves incompetence. Anyone that knew what they were doing is long gone or soon to be gone with an ERP package. Clin ops leaders are threatened by people that actually know what they are doing so they run them out of the organization by bullying them so bad they can’t stand it.
Senior leaders in Medical Management have no idea of what they are doing.
Been here 10+ years. The last two senior leaders who actually knew what they were doing were BL CIO and MH in SRE.
