Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

How does MW and MN still have a job?

If you look at performance metrics over the last 5 years, we haven’t been number one in any of them compared with the other LTIPs. In most instances we’re in the middle or at the bottom. Can’t help but chuckle when MW, MN, and the other ELT members who have been here forever talk about delivering results and being accountable when they’ll never do either. Dead last in ROCE and EPB?? Have another raise! Bunch of clowns.

“How DO MW and MN still have a job?”

The subject is plural MW, MN joined by the conjunction “and”
So “DO have” is plural verb and is in agreement with plural subject, and correct
Still is adverb
Job is direct object

No 2% for you

@dt better to act smart than to demonstrate a lack of basic communication skills, but you do you. Enjoy your 2% raise!

One remote possibility is that the BoD sees that MW closed a $53 billion acquisition that gives the company a thirty percent share in a field that contains an estimated 11 billion barrels. That investment will contribute to the bottom line for decades. Not sure how many middle managers have that on their year end PMP.

Guess who is training to be a consultant - correcting grammar and looking smart are strong indicators of developing a coherent strategy 🙄

@OP it’s “How DO MW and MN still have a job?”, not “does”. You are referring to more than one object in your sentence. In the future, please run your questions through copilot before posting them so you don’t further embarrass our company.

Let's not wonder any more. Fact - the Risk-Bearing Officer. This is why corporate america is corporate america:

The "Delegation of Authority" Loophole
Under the Business Judgment Rule: a CEO is not criminally liable for a corporate failure if they can prove they delegated the responsibility to a "competent, qualified professional.

The Strategy: The CEO doesn't sign off a fu---d up plan. They hire an ivy MBA from renowned consultancy and give them the power to sign that plan.

I think everyone shares the same sentiment. Any middle manager could do just as well or bad. The only difference is the ELT is expected to be able to bs on TV.
