I've pretty much accepted that this job is temporary, and the axe can fall at any time. Don't become complacent. There will always be more rounds of layoffs. The sooner people recognize this, the easier it will be to deal with the stress. A couple of weeks' breather is the best we can hope for. Better to direct your energy toward what’s good for you - always look for other opportunities, and don't invest yourself here beyond the bare minimum.

@OP - "Really think that layoffs are ever over?"
It's a constant in Corporate America pretty much no matter where you work.
I can tell you that after 40+ years working in Corp America! 🇺🇸
layoff is the constant k in Vz financials.
Yes, exactly what I plan. To be fair, I've largely done this my entire tenure so should be easy to maintain.
Just work as prescribed 9-5 M-F. A lot of you took advantage and worked between morning golf and afternoon tennis times timeslots after Covid and forgot what working normal hours are. Many canceled daycare and started bringing your older kids to and from school on company time. Human nature to do so but welcome back to collaboration and teaming up in the office. Has been done for over a century. You had to abuse the freedom, didn't yall?
I know the union is protected from layoffs, but cmon, the other side just saw 13k leave. Now it’s the unions turn for layoffs. There’s gotta e a way around the protection.
