Major RIF Alert

HR over multiple sites on call today and apparently there is a memo doing the rounds to management too. I am hearing something big coming in 2026

Focus on your career development instead of worrying about layoffs.

@2f8 it was 54 as long as you were turning 55 within the year.

@2ee .... "Demonstrators will march and rally in downtown Minneapolis Friday starting at 2 p.m", guess NONE wants to burn a PTO day. not much a day long protest. LOL

@2et Re the 2023 VERP offer - I think it went out late Jan. I know the election period was Feb 13 to Mar 6. I believe the minimum age was maybe 56? Don’t quote me.

What is the youngest age they offered VERP to in the past? I’m ready to go but I’m only 49.

@2er seems like VERP was offered/announced sometime in early March in prior years

by

Post ID: @2et+1ke9bj1zd

Did they do the VERP this year? it seems to run in 3 - 4 year cycles....

@223 not sure if sarcasm but using pto would kind of defeat the point of a general strike no?

But... but...AI is making us sooo efficient. Imagine how efficient we could be if we fired a few VP level Stanford grads before they finished sewing their golden parachute.

But do we get the Major protest planned for Friday in downtown off or need PTO? . Asking for a friend

The new partnership with Precision Neuroscience must be a lifesaver for CST! Adding BCI to SteathStation.

At least we get MLK day off. See Medtronic is so progressive.

@1rm The moral is horrible here at CST. Hopefully, CST gets sold to a better company?

@1nn same. I’m also from CST and my manager look like a ghost after every aop meeting.

Relax everyone. We are still at least 3 months away from anything.

I heard North Haven will have major layoffs even amongst senior employees due to nepotism and ethical concerns.

Yes CST should buckle up. Word is that Elliot will spin off CST and will trim some overhead in April beforehand to make it more attractive to investors.

@1gf They spend the whole travel budget flying our new directors and VPs around since none of them have industry experience or live near a site. They all come in having never seen a medical device plant.

I guess it’s true since GM recently mentioned we have excessive cash for major acquisitions. Yet I can’t travel without executive approval.

Every BU is going to be different. Every org within a BU is going make a different call on how to hit the numbers.

Remember that. A rif for one site may not mean a rif at another site.

@1f7 How is it that so much wasteful travel is still happening? F2F meetings every quarter, flying people in from various locations, including outside of the U.S.

I’m in Finance. The numbers look bad. Major cost cuttings are coming.

Yeah I was doing some AOP stuff today and the numbers pretty much dictate a RIF. Get ready folks.

Quality leader says he “doesn’t have a crystal ball”, doesn’t know if RIFs will happen. I guess he does think we are stupid. The final count and/or specific names may not be finalized but I guarantee at this stage, they know if cost cuts will be effected by eliminating staff.

It’s about if but how many people will be RIF

In quality town hall, someone asked about RIF, they did not deny it and just danced around it.
