Sending out an email on Dec 22nd that requires action by Dec 31st that impacts your compensation is a communication miss that should result in your immediate termination.

@az Doesn't matter now the deadline is past. You were able choose to put part of your bonus into your 401k earning you more money, then over 2026 they will take out money for your 401k as usual. If or when you meet the maximum you can put in your 401k in 2026 they will stop taking money for 401k so then your take home pay will be bigger (that is without any 401k deductions). The benefit is that you will contribute into the 401k earlier and earn MORE than you would by incrementally contributing to your 401k.
I would have taken advantage of this but sadly my bonus is sorely needed.
@c0 thats not true because i had staff changed to meet some and still was input for merit
It was first sent out several weeks prior actually. 12/22 was just the reminder.
Isn't that only if you wanted your bonus to deposit to your 401(k) account?
@OP That only impacts the very low percentage of employees that will get a bonus. All of us that were unfairly marked as partially meets will get nothing and no merit increase either.
Just another example of purposeful actions that are not in favor of employees.
Can you elaborate? Maybe I missed it too?
