Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

If someone gets Exceeds/Meets as their rating, will they get a larger bonus than if they had a Meets/Meets?

Bonus pools are down (more so than last year), and they’re not guaranteed. Most M/M will stay flat but some ranked lower (still M/M) will see a moderate cut (8-14%). Pay may increase ~2.5% increase for higher rankers or lower paid than their peers. Everyone else will be flat.

Any Es should put them at flat or a small increase (I didn’t see anyone with an E to provide more information). Pay should increase, too, but nothing significant.

Bank in process of eliminating Sr Business Bankers due to their pay. Business Banking RMs are heavily micromanaged , activities are widget not relationship driven with unrealistic monthly goals.

Extra pay? Definitely not. Pay for performance is a lie they tell to trick newer hires. 100% chance you'll get more work though

Guaranteed way to get more bonus - aim for just a meets (don't work more than 40 hours) and the extra effort you would put in here start a side hustle. Side hustle is the "bonus" pay.

Tyrie’s org here. Got an exceeds last year and bonus was flat. Manager tried to get me to thank him for it not going down.

Nope. You'll just hear the tired old speech, "While you had a strong year, as you know, Pay for Performance means we are compensated by how well the Company does, then our business and then your individual performance. While you Exceeded, expenses are still running hot/high and the economy continues to remain uncertain, so the Bonus Pool is down. And while our group Outperformed, that other group Outperformed even more, so it was a bad year to have a strong outcome. HR gave us the figures. It's out of our hands. So, your bonus for overexerting yourself this year is [fill in the blank] Flat or Down. (but not as Down as others). You're welcome!"

Short answer, no. Exceeds you'll probably get a bonus and increase. If you're only a meets/meets you might get nothing.

I got an exceeds/meets last year and received a lesser bonus than the year before when I got a meets/meets. Comical. This pay for performance talk they give us is all bs. It's so random.

….and only fools go for Exceeds here. Don’t be a fool in 2026. Do just enough to not get fired, and enjoy as much of your personal life as possible instead.

You could get God/Jesus in this cesspool and still told not good enough for an increase (except workload).

Speaking from experience, no. When I received the better review, I was told it helped keep my bonus flat, rather than go down.

Depends on your LOB, but probably not. We only get a raise (like 2%) if we're exceeds/exceeds.
