Interview at other bank went amazing!!
Still no contact from Citi but I have an interview with another bank this week
Honestly, the barriers and standards to entry are Lower for external job candidates at Citi. What does this mean for internal job applicants?? It means you have a lower chance of getting the job or internal transfer, unless you're a Nepo hire.
Make sure you apply for jobs at other companies as well.
It's true that starting a new job at a new employer may be scary and you may feel apprehensive. But Citi's pay and benefits are so low, bottom of the barrel and Citi may NOT even survive filing for bankruptcy by the year 2028, you may as well Quit.
The writing is on the wall. Only financially unstable and financially struggling companies pull the machinations, tricks and BullSh!t that Citi's pulling and doing.
I've been working long enough to have seen and watched this same movie before, and they all end the same way.........bankruptcy and closure. Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Wachovia, Credit Suisse, Dresdner, Commerzbank, etc..
Maybe your new job will allow work from home, and maybe they offer more money. (more money $$$…gee….imagine that), maybe they offer free childcare, maybe they have a better pension plan, etc..
@gy yes . To OP, if you get another offer for similar pay evwn a bit lower take it. This is place is rotten toxic in risk, controls, aml, hr, etc. worked in dozens of teams over the last 18 years and the last 5 years its taken a sh-t
As you wait, if you have any other resumes submitted elsewhere, don’t be to quick to cast any other offers aside. Citi might not be for you.
If you get hired on to Citi, if another company that you’ve submitted a resume with contacts you, speak to them. Resist the urge to turn them down as “you’ve already been hired by Citi”. Give them more than a passing glance. Maybe their location is closer to where you live, maybe they allow for work from home, and maybe they offer more money. (more money…gee….imagine that).
