Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Promotions happening now?

Seeing multiple Sr. Director promotions on LinkedIn.

They just let go a bunch on them recently. What’s happening?! Getting rid of high-salary positions and promoting at lower salaries?

Verizon did something similar after their layoffs. One last F you to those impacted. These companies never read the room correctly.

@c4 Not just ops. Most of non-sales positions are stagnant too.

I've seen a couple of names of former colleagues who couldn't tie their shoes who are now directors/senior directors. What they have in common is they're from In Dee Ah.

@a3 Unless there is nowhere else to go. Senior operations techs have no paths left. Managers are being cut, regions are being cut and other companies aren't hiring. The industry is stagnant and shrinking, the stock price is going down further every week.

Yeah, it wasn't just a reduction of headcount. It was a reorganization too, and that means some people moving up or into new positions, though fewer than the people moving out.

when the people left behind have to do more work you have to promote them or they'll burn out and leave
