Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

They don't have to provide servance, but the the company will face a lot of lawsuits if they don't.

As far as I know the company have not provide layoffs into for WARN reports. They bypass this by notifying affected workers that they will be laid off in 30-60 days. To prevent workers from suing the company, they provide severance to workers by making them sign an agreement to not sue the company.

For the most part, no severance package. This is across all levels including higher management. I think only the very tip top of management get a parachute, otherwise, I have not heard of any severance. Be warned...

Bonus pots are tiny this year and Merit is even smaller, definately not close to inflation.

The 4 day office requirement based on increased collaboration etc facile. It is a cheap way to shed staff who cant afford the commute, commute is too far or simply dont want to do it. It will hit the lower level less well paid people the hardest as they are likely to be people taken on during or after lockdown who never had to do kore than a day per week in the office.

Treating staff like children will just encourage childish behaviours.

@ct

Agree when you have your staff doing a double work load due to less staff , errors are going to happen.

When you get rid of the majority of the senior workers with 15+ years experience.
Leaving workers with less than 5 years experience, errors are going to happen.

I heard that the pool was likely to be lower. But this was specific to our division. Makes no sense as we have less people due to layoffs. However my manager said it was due to many pricing errors which our team has nothing to do with it….but we are in the same pool as we are within this division. But in their defense you cut your staff what the heck do you think is going to happen? Quality increasing?

It’s a win win for Ron. He cuts costs increasing the bottom line and quality goes down so he has a reason to lower bonuses … he can then put that extra in his pocket.

One thing for certain is Ron is going to get big payout. He's been using his earnings to invest in AI. Poor guy is too shy to appear in public so he's hoping his robot clone can do it for him.
