How soon can we expect to see the first layoff of the year? January? February?

@OP
Why are we still discussing layoff as it does not happen to all sites. It seems our layoff is an increase of manpower at APAC Site Logistics, which is on a hiring spree.
So what layoff are we talking here, maybe it is time we join the growing site.
@OP I think they are trying to make things really unpleasant for us now so that we leave voluntarily rather than having to pay people off to go. Poor pay increases, low AEG even for the few who did get it and a demand for people to work onsite even though flexibility has been the one and only positive from iPulse for several years now.
5 let go from UK software today
What/who is GCM?
Any rumors of an upcoming layoff?
It is funny that someone who has no f’ing clue about genomics or actually understands our business can be so influential.
He is in a class of his own when it comes to disingenuous, class less and blunt force leadership.
I am sure he has a massive list of complaints against him and which his HR puppets are hiding.
I think APAC especially manufacturing site is grateful for being spared of the decimation. Instead it fuels their growth to become illumina only leading site.
So we at other site can su-k thumb and see more unfolding of events that bring us to our knees.
Until someone is awakened to what is going on, then maybe our fortune will change.
Thus, put on our safety belt for more rough rides to come. As for APAC manufacturing is going to be just another fun cruise.
Bas also decimated AMEA. He’s horrible and the region was glad when his interim role was done, but will take a long time to recover morale
@20p i think they will be fine, Bas destroys regions he doesn't manage or plan to manage long term, thats why he influenced removal of so many senior leaders in US/Can.
Good luck to our latam team. The hatchet man Bas is now in charge so expect a load of firings soon. Don’t be fooled by him. There is only one reason they put him in charge.
@OP Fake news
Yeah that's what Illumina had done
@yw i think companies still can circumvent this (by not providing advanced notice) by paying "60 days" back pay penalty to affected employees. So WARN notices could come "after" intended layoffs.
I could be wrong though. I think I read this somewhere
employers are generally required to file WARN notices before mass layoffs, plant closings, or relocations, giving at least 60 days' advance notice to employees and government officials to help workers prepare.
Link posted is for a WARN notice. Its been explained countless times that WARN notices are put in after layoffs not before.
@tn wish we weren’t… so Jan layoffs then and not Feb I would imagine?
@tf Great we are in it!

Thank you for sharing. Do you know what areas?
My sources tell that Jan and Feb for San Diego other than this the rest is still in the dark.
Anyway, many sites is going south with manpower except supporting functions at APAC Singapore manufacturing site are going on a hiring spree.
I haven't heard any rumors. Although it does seem like they changed their layoff strategy. Different orgs/areas on different days, no confirmations or communications. Tightly underwraps.
