It's my fault that I didn't leave here long ago. I am in contact with some former colleagues who left this place and all of them are better compensated than I am. Anyone else hoping to get a raise? I was expecting some positive changes but it seems that the quickest way to get it is by leaving.

The first dip in the economy locks up or closes flight departments. The hiring spree that Urinestream always, always goes on between the dips leads to nasty RIF's about 3 years apart just in time for the holidays. The leadership is so ignorant they set the place up for the bloodletting every few years. If you stay or hire on be prepared to deal with it.
If attend the right church, play at the right golf course you can get into the “Good Old Boy” network.
I worked for a gulfstream decades ago, but it was always feast or famine. As soon as the economy goes into recession, most of these corporations immediately cancel their business jet order to save money.
They used to be notorious for laying off during economic downturns struggling to find people to come back when the economy picks up.
As a result, they had a lot of contract labor. They lived off the Grumman original design.
Best advice you could give us don’t go back unless you have to no job stability. Tons of internal politics. Savannah is just OK. Lots of other cities offer more.
Wherever you go, there you are.
I have to hand it to Gulfstream. They blow so much smoke with the great place to work scam. Pay, benefits and HR attitude are horrible. Get experience then move on or stick around and let them suck the life out of you!
It is always darkest before pitch black.
Look on the bright side the local market will be changing, it’s apparent that the state of Georgia wants new business which brings new tax base, new employees and additional growth opportunities. Just be confident that the People Team Czarina will have an answer for all of the challenges to connect.
Just remember they are giving out 5% raises this year! Not guaranteed 5%! Hiring in new unqualified individuals at hirer rates of pay (completions) than employees that have been there 3-5 years already. Bad moral isn't the half of it. People sleeping on the job, disappearing for hours at a time, and leadership acts like it’s no big deal! If you left the Stream and are doing great I’m happy for you. Always look forward and never back because your not missing a thing!
Where did your colleagues go to work for better compensation?

Absolutely can and will make more money elsewhere. The influx of new companies to this region in the coming years will force higher pay and better benefits if the company doesn’t want to lose major talent. They seem oblivious to the fact that this is going to happen and if you think retention is an issue now, just wait. Gulfstream has had the pick of the market but times will be changing. Change is coming.
I left a couple of years ago. I work no more than ethers a week and make over $200k. Get out of the blue bubble
I left years ago and wish I had done it sooner. This attitude that Gulfstream is the best place to work and no other employer can match Gulfstream greatness is bulls#1t. It’s a good place to get experience but once you have it it’s time to get payed and move on to a better life.
The grass always appears greener when you have little to offer and have great expectations .
Change employers by all means, but go to a different industry when you change.
Gulfstream pay and benefits are a joke. Get out of the blue bubble and get a better life
I was RIF’d three years ago and make significantly more money now. I know it’s a scary decision - a lot easier when it’s made for you ;-) - but the money IS better elsewhere.
