Do you think there will be Corning layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

@8fv Is this the wilmingto nplant you're referring to? I'm trying to start out there but nervous of the layoff rumors out htere.
I was in an executive role and highly enjoyed my job. However, the writing was on the wall, and I decided to relocate out of NY. If it wasn't obvious to others outside of the R&D facility there, you should really start looking elsewhere. Outside of Corning Inc., if you want to stay in NY. Hope this helps.
If nothing changes soon the Corning valley and surrounding area will be a ghost town, with respect to Corning Inc., in the years ahead. Even now people just lying low sitting around with little productivity in the valley offices. Local managers have no answers either when asked
Everyone wake up. The production work in the Corning Valley is cooked. Erwin is all but empty, IDM operations moved and downtown buildings being sold (the upper management of valley personnel). Work at Siemens, move or enjoy Government subsidy (until candy is unavailable on food stamps).
It’s coming.
Not only has my plant stopped training but they're beginning to crack down hard on previously perfectly acceptable behavior from us machine operators. We also had a snow storm a few weeks ago and got no mandatory overtime to make up for it. Im all but certain this is because data centers have paused construction and don't need our cables anymore
Frankly, the lack of noise is interesting, particularly when you look at the activity across similar firms. The stock trend, however, indicates the business may be doing just fine.
