Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Happy Holidays

As we all gather to spend time with family this holiday season dont forget to educate them about our beloved company...

  • Tell your MAGA in-laws how many of your American coworkers have been replaced with offshore Indians by Cigna.
  • Tell your Mom and Pop that despite working for a Health Insurance Company that Cigna has still increased your health insurance by thousands of dollars a year.
  • Does little Sally need a bedtime story? Maybe read her one about how a brave knight slays a parasitic PBM middleman like Express Scripts.
  • Is your uncle into the stock market? Bond over talking about how bad the Cigna stock is doing. Its okay CEO David Cordani's pay is almost completely based on stock but yours isnt.

You wont get a lump of coal for doing any of this because Cigna said during the Townhall that they have set aside money to spin a more positive image of the company. Funny how there is always money for that and mergers but never for paying talented American humans.

Sounds like you are paid highly or just waiting on your time. Either way, ELT and their pitiful STL have lacked strategy for years.

@1hb Yes, but the recent HIH opening and expansion of positions there have definitely escalated in the past year or two

just a reminder, cigna has utilized staff resources from india suppliers for both on-shore and off-shore IT assignments since 2003; i.,e., this is not a new strategy or story for cigna.

@k5 Godspeed. Taking the offer last summer was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. I hope the same for those of you lucky enough to get it.

‘‘Twas the night before Christmas and on this thread, people were whining, and many of them said

Cigna has lost their way, outsourcing Jobs to Indians for less pay

Cutting talent left and right, causing a lot of sleepless nights

This isn’t a change for those of us in ops, we’ve been outsourcing work for 20 years in those shops

To our technology teams who continue to whine, evolve with the company or get left behind.

I will join hands with all, gathered around the holiday table, and lead them in prayer that I'm offered the VRP.

@j6 Manager avoiding me and acting distant as usual but talking to his friends in the company. Maybe I will get laid off and can join you in this exit.

@fd I’m not fighting any wars and nothing is ruining my life. I’m out of this rat race in 2026. It’s a comment board for goodness sake. Save your lectures for the ones that care.

@b4 I get better pricing using Good RX at my local pharmacy vs Express Scripts and USPS delivering my meds to the wrong address in a different town and being asked to go get them. 🙄

OP and others are fighting back by damaging the public perception of a company engaging in unethical practices. There are thousands of instances of companies changing their behavior based on this as people start to boycott, stock plunges, and more. Join us!

Mark Cuban's website costplusdrugs is great! So much better than Express Scripts. Definitely let your family know if they are paying too much for their prescriptions!

Nobody said MAGA was to blame for outsourcing. MAGA people tend to care about issues like outsourcing, american jobs, america first, etc, so they can be "allies" of sorts against the real enemy which is the ultra wealthy/corporations.

You're busy fighting a culture war while the class war ruins your life.

@e1 It's hilarious when ELT and SLT act like they used to code back in the day.

No ya'll did not. You laid off the seasoned experts during the last big recession.

@bd how is OP fighting back? By harassing his family at the holiday gatherings? WTH value does that bring?

You sound fun. I'm sure everyone in your family can't wait for breaking bread at your holiday dinner table (not). Our company is making some very poor quick decisions, hoping for long term gains. Every company before them has tried the offshore game, most with a better balanced strategy. Cigna went all in, let their seasoned experts go and its failing miserably. No one at ELT or SLT has the moral compass/guts to say so. This has nothing to do with any politician, they have been playing with this resource strategy for years, when they brought the Bi--h in and let ESI run the show is when they went all in. Poor leadership 2 layers deep and DC could care less, he's made his wealth and the rest of us will pay with the constant layoffs and cheap labor. Put blame on Cigna leadership...that's 1000% where it belongs.

@c2 I think Mark Cuban and Amazon are already doing damage. When Cuban’s company can offer the same dr-g for $18.95 that we charge $850 for, what do you think is going to happen? I had a prescription I was getting at Walmart for zero dollars. Now I am paying $40 to have it delivered via express scripts.

@OP So it’s MAGAs fault they’re sending jobs overseas? News flash genius, they’ve been doing this for years. Way before MAGA. Maybe if you took your head out of your a$$ you might think more clearly. Fresh air does wonders for the mind.

Weird how yall are simping for upper management (or are you upper management?) like they won't just lay you off you anyways. Were literally on a website called thelayoff, stop protecting a toxic company. Start fighting back like OP.

In other, more functioning societies the government limits dr-g costs.

Parasitic PBM?! Express Scripts works tirelessly to lower your dr-g cost…you’re welcome. If there is a world where you think getting rid of a PBM helps you, you are delusional, all we do is fight pharma on your behalf. Without PBM pharma would just charge what they want and dr-g costs go up.
