@bn Fake news, BJ can't get the head tax. He does not have the votes. It's just to make us all miserable and inflict attrition across the company.

@ah - There is a girl on our floor who has been sick for a week but still comes in. She blows her nose very loudly and coughs a lot. We get it though, she needs to keep her average up. It is somehow good for the company.

Expect more of this in the new year.

@eh - you are just not as favorite of your upper management. Those favorites get exemptions easily. You should just come in, sick or not. Your can also donate your PTO to a needy executive. That will maybe help make you a favorite.

@c8 - Tvat is the problem. None of this is clear as to who gets exemptions and the method used to calculate an average of three days. Just told by HRvto upper management who then filters it down the food chain. PTO and working from home sick does not count as in office days and brings down your average, so you must make them up...that is the policy being communicated.

@bj I also accrue PTO at a higher rate, never experienced this. Must be one of the many secret policies we hear about on this board, otherwise, post the section in the employee manual that describes it.

@bg That’s not what was said, reread the post.

@bp - They do, but it is very informal. Just be liked and favored by management.

@bm strange. When I asked HR they told me it was up to discuss with my manager and they didn't have a formal exemption process

Just submit an exemption request to HR about something with a family member. It was easy and I now get exempted from all that tracking. You have to play the game.

@bg - Correct. Their statement was not false. As someone with a lot of PTO, I have been told to ensure I come in at least 4 days or more to make it up...and for sickness too..and just to not get sick, half-jokingly.

That is the current policy. It's a shame they may rob people of their bonuses because of this d-mb policy! Surely they will not penalize upper management though.

@b6 it’s not false. PTO and holidays do not reduce the 3 days.

@b7 - Yes, sick or not, drag yourself in. Even though so many others get exemptions, including upper management.

They cant keep track of everyones pto and holidays and wellnesss days. So the blanket policy is no matter what, you need to hit your monthly average of 3 days per week. Its easier to run the report this way, sorry but this aint gonna change. Infact, since they just laid off all these people, i would make sure you hit your 3 otherwise you are next

@ah This is false and has been discussed at length in other threads.

@ah I agree. Honestly there should be some flexibility and if you're open with your manager about what's going on there should be grace in the system.

I know this whole "back in the day we used to come in sick, didn't matter" but we really need to grasp where we are now in the workforce and move forward with flexibility and understanding. At the end of the day the work is getting done

Will Maurice, Shannon, and all the other executives be 3 days at the office too? You know, the most ethical company in the universe, leaders need to lead by example. I guess we will never know because they hide in the ivory tower anyway.

The inane policy never let's up. You will have to work 4 to 5 days in the office to make up your days took off for PTO and the Holidays.

I have been told they want to penalize bonuses this year if you are not making up your days for PTO, Holidays...and for being sick but still working from home.

This of course encourages people to come in sick, like there are people on my floor doing today.
