Every year, I am told - by a series of different managers - that you have to be an I10 to get RSUs. Is this true? Anyone receive RSU grants below I10?

Received RSUs yearly as an I7-I9 until a reorg and new manager never gave another for four years as well as severely underpaying compared to new hires. This was in an engineering role. I quit last fall.
I'm I7, and the last of my RSU grant shares vest in March.
I'm I10 and haven't got RSUs for the three years I've been here. I was given some as part of my joining package though which have almost all vested now.
Yes, it is political. No, anyone can get RSU. However, you have to be in elite contributor and most likely be from a competitor. Gotta get them before you're hired! as MD does not like to give options to anyone that isn't in his leadership circle after you're onboarded.
Are you a logistics analyst previously from Amazon? Then you probably got RSU in your basic offer.
Are you a Security product dev manager previously from Palo Alto networks? Then you probably got RSU in your basic offer.
Received them as an I8, I9, and I10.
I left in October as an I10. (Retired since I didn’t see a voluntary separation package on the horizon. I never heard of Dell ISUs before I started reading this site. Must have been a legacy Dell thing.
Heck I10s don’t even regularly get RSU. It’s often political who gets them.
I have insight here. About 10% of all employees receive them each year. Nearly all executives do (unless being forced out). Majority of I10/M10 and above also. Lower levels are eligible down to I5, but it's extremely uncommon below I8. Engineering orgs get proportionally larger budgets so more common for ICs to get RSUs in those groups than in something like sales or finance. Managers/Directors typically have minimal influence on planning as the budgets are held at VP level. If you're below I9 and getting RSUs consider it a sign that your VP sees you as top talent.
Definitely not true. I get them nearly every year as an i9.
It’s typically included as part of the package for i9s and above in our org
All I know is that I asked my SR. Manager once about RSU's and he giggled and said, he doesn't even get them. My guess is that ever since the "dellionaire" era - when the stock split twice and a LOT of people became overnight millionaires - they decided nobody gets them unless you are (im guessing, sr.director or higher)
not true, got them set for 2 years as an i6...
@cb not true. Received as i5 from L-EMC side but that was about 5 years ago now
If you're from the legacy dell side you can get them as an i5. If you're from the L EMC side you're SOL unless you're an I10 and even then you have to have connections.
Not true.
Total lie. People from all levels can get them.
I8 here. I’ve been receiving them every year for the past 5 years. Your manager is a filthy little snake liar
Anyone can get RSUs. Typically given to people you want to keep. Your manager is a liar. Not shocking.
I was told you have to be a Director and up to be eligible. However i believe Everyone should be getting it, because "All in " and all that. Buying Dell stock with your salary does not count as RSU :). But imagine everyone getting it, stroke price would go down the toilet.
I received as i5 😅😅😅 someone else in your team is getting them 😉
Not true. Your managers are lying to you.
