If the market makes a turn soon, do you think there will be Centene layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Centene does layoffs around four times a year: after open enrollment (around March/April), after they do budget planning (August/September), in October (a way to get rid of people before end of year to boost stock prices), and the final end of year to get rid of anyone they don't want to carry into bonus season (December/January).
This has been the pattern for at least the last six years.
I was in management until I was laid off ;)
@pe automation is what is gonna take eveyones jobs...im in claims and what I do can easily be replaced.....
@nv It’s a mad scramble to automate and offshore as much of this as legally possible. Employees in this sector are caught in a squeeze between AI and outsourcing. Remember the purpose of a public company. Hint…it’s not to provide you with a job.
@n7 LOL offshore will be here long than any of us will ever be. if they could offshore would do the majority of the work in this company.
On the most recent meeting we had for our state they said worse comes to worst they will pull work from overseas to give to us instead of laying people off. thats a load of BS right there. we all know they save tons of money by outsourcing and the name of the game of making cuts in spending. you mean to tell me theyre gonna sacrifice that to save jobs? has he-l hath frozen over?? 😂
Makes a turn? Oh it’s gonna make a turn alright. Especially in marketplace LOB. My prediction is a loss of 1/3 membership across the ACA at the very least. With less members and more outsourcing and AI, you tell me how this could NOT lead to more layoffs.
