Sanford, St. Mary’s, Cordele, Tulsa, and several other locations will be closing in 2026 permanently. In the meanwhile, the company is describing the new "market stores" as a new concept that'll help Belk just like the outlet talks of a few years back lol.

@9wc It’s listed as permanently closed on Google
@bj Not true. The Sanford, NC store is a regular store in two structures. The center is beiong redeveloped as a Target.
Sad. Tulsa has so few brick and mortar stores anymore. I will really miss this store.
@bh is Belk Paris Texas closing Permanently
@dv Absolutely right!
When that generation is gone, it will not be replaced with department store shoppers like in the past.
@dv agree but that’s not a sustainable model if they are looking for growth
Most stores are senior citizen shoppers most on a fixed income
in rural or suburban areas, belk needs to realize this. They don’t want modern, they want a clean store, clerks at the register, easy to understand pricing, and price checkers in easy to access areas of the store. They don’t do phone downloads, pay full price for clothing, or wear high end designer names, that’s not who or what they are…sorry Belk’s.
If your store stops hiring that is a sign they are fixing to close permanently , this usually happens about six months before the closure.
Oak ridge is surrounded by like 5 much nicer Belk stores (a gold and silver store are less than 30 mins away) no way it can compete, so not shocking they chose that store to close. Plus rumor is the building had major issues and wasn’t up to code according to fire marshal.
Add oak ridge TN
they will have several rounds of closures i would guess.
It’s mostly outlets closing next year though which isn’t surprising as most of them are dead locations that were converted to ride out a lease. All you listed are outlets except for Tulsa which I’m not sure about. Although 1 regular store in my region is closing they just found out today.
How many stores in Texas??
Guessing or is this confirmed?
They've kept it tight-lipped if its truly this many closings
