Starting a job at Wells Jan 19th. Is the United plan decent? Coming from a place with Humana

UHC gives pre approvals and then hides them then declined them then when you dream at them they have it back. And they will not always pay on preapproval. Note the small print at bottom that says if it is in plan guidelines. So we got shafted on 7k by them and it took 9 months to do a basic mri which cost them a grand. Included help is hit or miss. Half the time you have people that care but only follow thru half the time yet. Aetna advocates held Aetna feet to the fire more than included you. Basically it costs a lot but eventually they pay (in most cases). If it means anything we have UHC as a choice post WF and we ran from it cause that company has issues.
If you get a pre approval for any procedure…keep a copy. First thing they did was remove my surgeon a week before my procedure. Once we got that straightened out…They tried to deny my claim post op after I had met my deductible for the year! The pre approval disappeared from their website. Thankfully my doctor had a copy. They are self insured. If you need help on the WF side, you will be speaking to a barely competent person in another country.
I would be more worried about looking for a job in six months- that the average life expectancy of a new hire before getting laid off
@a3
Thanks. Pretty much what I had at Humana. I’m ok with that
For an individual it’s fine
When I had their HRA plan, I never had any issues. With kids, we've used it many times from a broken leg to pneumonia.
If I had an HSA plan, it would have hurt.
They are fantastic once you pay $4k!
