No matter how well you were ranked this year, no merit raises for next year (effectively a pay cut if you factor in inflation). A whole year of trying to care to essentially be told I was d-mb for not doing the bare minimum. We all know that John May has said he's never going to pay someone to quit ever again, so how long before he decides to not pay us in a layoff?

It would make me feel 5% richer; those 2 others should have worked harder.
Being paid severance is a choice by the company, not a legal mandate.
So, if you are not happy with your current pay package, look elsewhere. If you are doing the job you were hired for, and still getting a paycheck, there are tens of thousands of folks that would trade with you, considering they are out of work.
Bonus, merit increases, all affect the company. If you took a 5% pay increase but then knowing 2 others lost their job so you can keep yours, how does that make you feel? I helped run a small company for years, and never got a pay raise in the last 10, so that we could provide more for the other employees. The owner didnt even take a salary so others could.
