Thread regarding IBM layoffs

RA'd people Stay off LinkedIn

That place has become a toxic cesspool. Shady recruiters, Every other topic political and people posting whoaaa is me. I totally get their grief but It's only going to make you more upset and angry.

And these job postings. Probably ghost postings like on job boards. They post just to stay compliant.

And these stupid brain teaser games. Nobody want to see that cr@p.

LinkedIn is useless. It has become a stepbrother of Facebook

Recruiters are simply telemarketers. Treat them that way.

I saw someone post that he would take any job like Bagging Groceries. He is in danger of losing his house. I really feel bad for people in that situation. I had to get off that site. People begging for minimum wage jobs is not normal. This country is in some serious trouble.

@dv and those Indian recruiters are a total waste of time and effort. They come with a bunch of fancy titles to impress you. They want you to tailor your resume to fit some fake job opportunity that they think they have and you waste a lot of time doing what they tell you. Best advice is to tell the clueless Bast--ds to go to he-l and not to call back. It is yet another 'Made In India' job scam like the LinkedIn Premium Scam.

Also understand that 70-80% of jobs posted on LinkedIn are fake. Mostly used by companies just to provide evidence to the government that they "tried to find an American but couldn't" for an H1B/PERM that they are trying to get approved. Also used by staffing agencies to fill their CV database. Applying to LinkedIn job postings is like folding your CV into a paper airplane and throwing it into the abyss.

@ba

I got an email from them about a week before my RA date and I never replied. I heard they are shysters and their reputation is cr@p

It's who you know these days. Recruiters, and those ilk are the sc*m of the earth. LinkedIn is infested with them

FYI, the Randstad Risesmart package is no better than LinkedIn - nothing but another scam that leads you nowhere. The coaches are cr-p and IBM Careers leadership need to be horsewhipped for recommending these incompetent clowns.

@OP the same is also true about Glassdoor and Indeed and a few others. Nothing but scams from "so called" job recruitment boards and on-line job apps. Your mileage will vary but don't be afraid to stop any time someone asks for $$$ and your credit card number. Linked-In Premium is a definite scam. You will pay money and get nothing back but a pack of lies as they take more and more money from your credit card. It's very difficult to stop the Linked-In subscription scam. This is the world we have created with McKinsey and H1B visas at IBM. and of course, AI.

LinkedIn was a cancer when it first launched, and has only gotten worse over the years.
