I was informed by a teller that many deposit accounts are flagged incorrectly as individual when they should be joint. She said this is a bug, left over from the merger. I went in to the branch because of a letter stating as much. What happened to "we will look at both BB&T and STI systems, evaluate which is best, and migrate to those systems"?

Being in Tech during the Merger I can tell you it was 100% the consultants driving the ship into this mess. "Hey we don't know the data, but we say to map it this way". Unless the internal folks fixed it because they care it was done incorrectly "On Purpose". Too bad a lot of the people that cared got burned out and left after that mess.
Truist hires cheap software engineers. The result is subpar software development. We'd be better off utilizing AI to write our code. Consistently reliable and minimal bugs. The age old adage of "You get what you pay for" could not ring truer here.
We are dealing with it again in Wealth. Finally got someone to admit what happened. Not all the data mapped over during the conversion so we all are being held to fixing that HUGE problem.
Y'all beat the dead horse of RTO so much that it turned back into MOE.
