Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Still no final word

We were told 3 months ago that we were either being moved to vendor or laid off. About a week before Christmas and still no word on our eventual fates. Makes budgeting and planning finances for presents for our kids tough. I think these people are sick and enjoy doing this to people. Expect us to work with this hanging over our heads during the holidays. Already canceled holiday travel in case money is needed later. Why tell us all this months in advance with no answers? Where is the respect for us? How is not workplace harassment?

100% agree. I'm in ASIC and we were told we would know if we will be laid off or transferred by the end of the year for sure and this week they told us now they won't tell us until January. Their goal in my opinion is to get as many people to voluntarily quit as possible so they don't have to pay severence . Its sad. All the lies, manipulation, and fake caring is just to create a weird, tense, awkward work environment so you quit before they lay you off. We constantly have Huddleston where senior leaders bring up no new information but keep reminiscing us of the layoffs and the people taking our jobs in the Philippines to passively aggressively get us to find a new job. Also we get emails from senior leaders about jobs in other allstate departments but they claim they value us and want us to go to the vendor. Upper management is evil. I'm waiting until they tell me my fate. If I'm laid off excellent I'll get 16 weeks of severence. If not then I'll accept the transfer but will definitely leave later this year and look for a job on my timeline and not theirs
