They think we are very replaceable. They don't respect us at all. Why is it so difficult to come to terms with the fact that the leadership here does not care about the employees, does not care about our concerns and thus doesn't feel the need for too much transparency?

My direct leader pretends to care, to a point, but beyond that, this company doesn’t value its workforce whatsoever. They haven’t said it outright, but just look at their actions. Look at their below market pay scale. Look at the way they treat their customers when they dare file a claim. Look at the deteriorating benefits. Look at the scripted town halls where they insult the intelligence of everyone.
Yeah..they don’t care. Move along. They proved it in 2020 and continue to. There are better options out there!!
Listen folks, its a business that is publicly traded. When business is good it might seem like they care. When business is bad they care about their investors. It really is as simple as that. When a company is losing money ( and Allstate is ) changes need to be made.
What is an A and B suite? C, is simple.
Be real. This is a soulless multinational corporation. We are a line item on the PnL and that’s it. The leadership of this company don’t care about the people working here and they’ll RIF anybody on the org chart and replace them with someone cheaper, or not replace them at all, in a hot second.
The whole illusion of loyalty only exists in small or medium sized privately owned companies and sometimes not even there. Having worked for both, I can say that in a non-public company the leadership up to the CEO don’t generally see people as widgets that can be bought and sold as needed. They hire carefully because having to RIF people hurts them personally. They know most of the employees and their families.
If you think anyone in the A, B, or C suite gives a damn about anything but their bonus check and beefy stock options when it comes to firing people to jack up those numbers, you’re laboring under an illusion. Tom Wilson isn’t going to lose a wink of sleep over any of this. ‘It’s not personal, it’s just business’ has to be the most disingenuous kind of all of the kinds of bulls**t there are. It’s a lie they tell themselves.
I agree to a point. I feel that my leader cares but once you get to the bonus level leadership you begin to see the greed kick in and the care for customers and/or employees vanishes.
They demonstrated their contempt for employees in 2020. When they doubled down a year later and told employees to “get over it” they reinforced their viewing employees as an annoying expense on a balance sheet. They feel every single person is replaceable. Go and quit and see if they try to keep you. A number of high performing employees have recently walked away and the company didn’t blink an eye.
Not only do they not care, this company actively HATES its employees, they would replace every US employee if they could, they are trying and have been for years. You are a liability and a cost that needs to be cut!
They care. They just have a hard time showing it.
