Will they track both Badge In and Badge out?
If so, say goodbye to Coffee Badging.
Your time locked in the zoo will be tracked.

@ze they are now building a tall fence between those doors at 9700 and 9800 and the parking lots.
Unless you count the old gate on the stairs between the lobby and 2nd floor (which used to have a Tricare operation and thus required more security), there are not yet any badge-out requirements at 9800. But that seems inevitable.
The modernized (AKA full-height) turnstiles are one of several "security enhancements" planned for Eden Prairie and Health Care Lane. At 9800 they are located between the lobby and the cafeteria, so Big Brother isn't making anyone badge out just yet. But it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to modify the regular doors so that exiting requires a badge swipe. But don't worry, you can exit without a badge swipe if you don't mind triggering a very loud alarm. According to signage, they're also planning to install "badged access to parking ramps." Do we feel safe yet?
@ca Badging out was NOT required at 9800 as of December 14. However, full-height turnstiles were being installed between the lobby and the cafeteria.
@f2
They could tell this years before teas was even invented
@pe Many, many people at Optum work on remote teams with people spread all over the country, if not the world. Why on earth would coming into the office to sit on remote meetings with everybody else doing the same make you more productive? Never mind additional cost in dollars and time for the commute?
@OP Jesus - why exactly are you working here then? The entitlement some of y'all have about WFH and RTO is astounding. If you were here before we were all sent home due to Covid and you were never converted to a full time telecommuter status let alone a hybrid status then what exactly is the problem? You mad because you can't just come in, swipe your badge and turn around and go home? You do know there are other methods available to track your access into the Work networks, correct? Quit your complainin and put on your big boy pants and get back to work.
@ar Exactly this.
Microsoft Teams now tracks your network connectivity method. It knows if you are on an on-site network or VPN connected so badging isn't nearly as important. Teams will also tell me if you are hard wired or wireless connected.
@ad Actually badging out is now required at 9800/9900 office in Minnetonka.
These fools are paranoid. Someone is very unlikely to jump turnstiles to hold a protest. Equally if not more likely some person with badge access is pushed too far with the layoffs and pay cuts and snaps.
They can’t require a badge out because it’s a fire hazard and a violation of multiple laws. If anyone seems them require it, just call the local authorities
There is where all the 1% 401k investments went. Thank you employees for your understanding and your continued support. We look forward to the employee flogging restarting in January so enjoy the holidays.
@OP what about the 1800?
