Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

Predictions 2026

Well, 2025 is almost over. It's time to revisit the 2025 predictions and make new ones for 2026.

I don't really know which rule the predictions thread violated, but the original 2025 Predictions thread disappeared after being up for a really long time. Not sure what happened there. Someone partially resurrected it here: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1k38aeyac

So, weigh in on which predictions were right, and make some new predictions for 2026.

Yippee, a cascaded AI goal from our MetLife lords. Yes, this will certainly go a long way to cut through the 🐂💩 time waster tasks that a do-nothing POS AVP routinely assigns. Don't fire the do-nothing POS AVP, just use AI to manage their nonsense wisely. 😉 Great strategy there, Mother Met. I am forever grateful. 🙏🏻

Pace is gone. I guess Met realized that high priced position was as bogus as they get. Not even a proper send-off with a $10,000 painting. Now do all the unnecessary AVPs next. Please and thank you.

@30a They pull this 🐂💩 every single year. Record breaking year for some LOBs but then 💩 raises and AVIP for the win. I don't expect much from these 🫏🫏🫏.

Europe should be sold off, but doubt it will be sold.

CEO has personal ties to operations there.

I could be wrong ...

@1dk low impact in Cary given that most of the kitchen staff are contracted, not 'imported' and not a target. Might affect the coffee shop and cleaning staff and that's about it.

@r6 You talking about this? https://www.totalprosports.com/nfl/video-everyone-is-saying-the-same-thing-about-the-jaw-dropping-fan-who-flashed-the-saints-after-she-was-paid-by-giants-player-during-their-game-at-metlife-stadium/

Maybe at the World D Cup?

@r6 Low chance of success given the lack of quality of subject matter. At Cary anyway. Not sure about New York.

The 10 Flex Days policy for hybrid employees officially becomes Unlimited Flex Days, so managers can stop making up their own 🐂💩 policies to cover for their staff, who are incapable of getting their A$$es into the office 3 days a week. Not to mention the AVPs who do not enter their days into Oracle. Rules for thee, but not for me.

@ar the pace maker is still officially on the payroll, but has been basically MIA since the end of DEI. Nice work if you can get it.

I predict another year of cr-ppy raises followed by ever increasing and unrealistic job performance expectations. Eventually someone will crack during an in office day leading to national news coverage.
