Another week of high profile corporate exits. Head of channel (VP) out after just 5-6 months in the job. 5th channel leader in 18 months. Replaced by 2 senior directors.
Marketing leader leaving Dec 31.

@4vn didn't know RM was on this forum. McMurty was toxic and the way his staff kept shivering around him was evidence. None of them added anything of material value other than just hand waving. The last of the HCE bunch is now KD who is of the same type.
RM was a nice guy but IMHO did essentially nothing of substance during his time at HON. He said a lot of the right things in principle but never delivered results. To be fair, the entire crop of leaders in HCE seemed to be cut from the same “over promise and under deliver” cloth.
@x4 RM going means that our marketing team won’t be as good. He was a great leader and really knew his stuff.
The McMurty purge took too long. Would have saved a lot on team morale and preserved the culture a lot better if this purge was done earlier.
@nc totally agree! RM was a reflection of how bad people choices in Honeywell had become and the lack of any credibility in leadership. Among the wave of exits, this is one that is actually great news.
@f5 what kind of loser are you? RM a marketing genius? You are obviously brainwashed and illiterate - that guy and his minions can’t even spell marketing - let alone ‘a genius’ what a joke.
It’s kind of crazy. It’s just a matter of time before other teams are slashed in the wake of the spin.
@f5
RM broke the cardinal rule of power. “Never outshine the master”. He was more of a reflection of Honeywell brand than VK, MS and others.
@af fully agree. This is a welcome purge. He posted a celebratory post on LinkedIn that he is the new CMO of Honeywell asking for Congratulations when his entire team was let go. Many did find positions but that bunch was one of the most toxic I have ever come across. Good riddance for Honeywell … the future does look bright after all!
RM is one of the best things to happen to Honeywell. He’s a marketing genius and the fact that we’re losing him is NOT good. People may have debated his leadership style but he’s a genius - pure and simple.
Marketing is one of the biggest problems Honeywell has at the moment. You can outsource IT implementation but you cannot outsource brand development. Imagine if Goldman Sachs outsourced their trading activities. You’d dump their stock on your phone while driving!
Marketing needs to be a core competency and part of our DNA. It’s part of the DNA of other large industrial tech firms. Needs to be part of ours.
@ag Yeah AW is still there. Surprisingly the HR department had shriveled up. Really thought the VK cabal would’ve cleaned up the ship but apparently not at all.
RM getting the chop was the best part of this year. He hired a team full of minions from HCE who have no clue what they are doing, and now he is out. Let’s see how long they last when someone holds them accountable? Ready for fast forward to the next marketing transformation
Good riddance. Ro-N Mc-Murtrie is and was a plague to the organization and he should have never been allowed to become CMO of the Corporate function after the HCE fiasco.
He is nothing more than a pathetic excuse for a boss—so utterly feeble and incompetent that calling him a leader is an insult. His lack of marketing knowledge and lack of strategic vision is utterly infuriating and completely unacceptable.
For future employers and publications -- just run away from this former CMO of Honeywell.
