US employees “get some days off” around Dec 25.
Non-US employees earn vacation days to take at a time of their choosing, EXCEPT they are forced (“encouraged”) to consume them around Dec 25.

Let's make a petition, we should shift this around Diwali?!
Well managed competitive companies don't need shutdowns. When their CEO sc--ws up and completely misses their targets they don't force another day of shutdown to pay that CEO an unearned bonus. The don't force employees who never had on call rolls to guarantee 15 minute response times during shutdowns while clearing out their vacation for the "privilege."
so let me process this - someone is ticked off that they get some days off around Dec 25? if you're that enslaved to the daily grind, feel free to find a Cisco office somewhere and pick up trash in the parking lot
