and FP&A teams have to deal with our sales teams (who can't sell anything) and cry constantly that $1,000 phones aren't FREEEEEE.
It'll wear down anyone with a modicum of a brain.

Fin Ops is the engine room of the company but many people don’t realise this. If Fin Ops isn’t working well that will have a massive impact on cash flow and revenue and cost assurance. They also have the unenviable task of having to deal with Infosys on a daily basis to fix all those IT “defects”. There’s barely anyone in a senior leadership role now that knows anything about this area so it’s likely there will be some bumps in the road

Surprised they kept Lake Mary. seems like bad strategy to have a Finance org completely detached from the rest of the company

@b0 They change the group names and what’s in them constantly. Lake Mary centralized most of what was Bill to Cash to Lake Mary. That included collections, fraud, bill print, payments, revenue and cost assurance, and credit strategy. What was APIC was also mostly moved to Lake Mary which was accounts payable, payroll, invoice validation and commissions.

VGS came next which combined bill to cash and apic into global finance operations. Apic was also renamed to GPSO (global payment solutions and operations).

Now most of those groups are not part of VGS. Global Finance Operations was disbanded. Finance Operations is now what was GPSO and APIC before that. What was Bill to Cash has now been obliterated between multiple groups - collections and credit to Consumer CFO, Bill Print and Payments to Treasury, Fraud to Controllership under Risk Management. Revenue and cost assurance appear to remain in VGS but who knows at this point. And no reason to know because it will change again.

They also have leaders with zero previous operations experience in charge of large teams. What could go wrong?

All finance ops and FP&A teams are worthless. Bunch of know-nothing people who feel empowered right now because of Dans cost cutting. They could get rid of every one of them and no one would notice or care. They are cogs in the wheel and slow down business. Truly one of the most worthless team in the company.
