Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Target at it again treating employees like cr-p

Distribution centers, sortation center and Woodbury distribution were told that starting Jan 1st we are required to take the new law of an unpaid 30 minutes AND they cannot work longer or make up the time. Everyone is going to lose pay that puts food on their tables for their families. This law was not meant for companies to use it to their own advantage benefit. Target does not care. Most people are losing $1500 to $5000 a year in lost wages. And yet no comment on the news.

@ct Target is using the new MN law to save millions on payroll and impacting a few thousand of warehouse workers. For example I work 4 - 19 hour shifts. Previously our breaks were paid. We now have to take an unpaid 30 minute break but our shifts are not longer. This means I will lose 104 hours of pay each year starting in a few weeks. This is thousands of dollars every team member is losing. Target is using this law to benefit them and covering their bottom line for their mistakes. This is not what the law was intended for. Target does not care.

Target actively made the choice to reduce 1000s of TMs take home pay and force us to take a 30 minute break. They did not have to do this according to the law. We could have been paid for it or allowed to waive the break time. Instead we are expected to work the same schedule and get paid 30 minutes less a day. This was all a choice let me make that clear. Target chose to take pay away from its team members.

Are you saying Target is reducing your hours from 8 to 7.5 then? Otherwise, it sounds like you're just angry that Target is following the law...
