Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

RTO and staying in for full shift

Anyone has to stay in the office when they come in for their full shift? Our leadership is pushing managers to make sure their staffs stay in the office for their full 8 hours of shift, especially in JAB. Those in JAB who's managers are in KC are also to video call their managers in non-JAB location every morning to confirm they are in fact in the office from start of their shift as well.

@8ay Yes on that 40 to 60 minute commute add another 20 to 30 minutes when your driving in a thunderstorm or snow storm.

Does anyone know if they are still checking RTO? Although, should anyone one of us care to comply when layoffs are every other month, even those coming in 4 days, every week are not safe.

The RTO policy is bull. It was never about collaboration. State Street is only using the policy to cover themselves. Instead of openly targeting roles or people, the company is clearly hoping some employees will get fed up with being back in the office and quit. What leadership doesn’t seem to realize is that the long-timers are tough. They’re not leaving just because commuting got annoying.

At the same time, you’ve got people who barely show up AND do any work at all. I used to report to a VP who forced our entire team into the CCB office while he 'worked' from home and take credit for other people's work. His condo was only a few blocks away but he never stopped by while rest of us had 40- to 60-minute commutes. These are the type of people that are flourishing in the company and never gets in trouble.

I’ve known at least a handful of folks in my department who came in 4 days every week, some during the COVID days. All laid off. The one who actually got a warning still has his job. Although, he clocks in late, hits the gym and then out the door. Take that for what it’s worth.

I have not had that happen. We are told to simply make sure we abide by our persona aka 4 days in office.

My manager allows us to determine how long we stay in the office which most of us stay under the 8 but typically stay several hours at least. After a long commute no one wants to turn around and go back.

Who cares? They are laying off employees who roll up their sleeves instead of cutting the paper pushing class. The company does not care about you. RO 2024 comp was over $10m.

I don’t mind 8 hours tracking as long as they are upfront how they monitor and still have room to track in flexible days when I’m working from home etc. so that all time is accounted for properly

This is how the company will make sure workers are in the office.

  1. They have a computer record of when you swipe your badge to enter and exit
    the bldg.

  2. They have a logon and logoff record for your PC
