Projects have been cut as part of funding for 2026. But the RIF did not remove those team members. Dan did not announce any new initiatives so now the SDs with no projects are lurking and stealing projects as part of so called reorgs.
The VZ bureaucracy was always bad and now its getting toxic

Continues? It has been toxic for years and will only get worse.
@ca I am looking for job. Trying to help ppl keep/get the job. Interviews are not about tech or certifications again you have to kiss a-s to get them interested. Kissing an a-s is skill doesn’t come naturally you have to work on it. Merry Christmas… only Santa can be taken for granted ho ho ho 😆😆😆
@bw Your post is very insightful and inspirational! You sound like a great person to work for and I could learn a lot from you.
Am I doing this right? Do I get the job? 😉
some of the snakes and rats got exposed this time. high functioning team members were cut while good old boys were kept. No masking it this time, no second guessing. The culture died in 2015 anyway
Verizon is a great company to work for and leaders are Demi gods. Getting paycheck is not easy these days. It doesn’t take a lot to be nice and little flattery goes a long way. Understand it stinks but kissing a-s may not be a bad thing … you know money on the line.
Are you talking WPN and MPN?
@OP So why do you stay. Funny stuff. Everyone I work with thinks the change is good and understand clearly the steps taken so far. Maybe I will use one of my many days off today that Verizon gives me to spend that money on Christmas shopping
It has become an outright toxic environment. Too many so-called “leaders” in this company aren’t driven by results—they’re driven by politics, favoritism, and pure nonsense. This is how companies start to rot from the inside, and Verizon is already showing the cracks.
People can have different views or beliefs, but justice and fairness are universal expectations of leadership. When leaders abandon those principles, the entire culture collapses. Verizon isn’t just missing that—it’s completely failing at it. And everyone can see it.
