Don’t be. Or at least, don’t take them to heart. They aren’t genuine assessments. They’re just a convenient cover for cuts and reorgs. A bad review might increase the odds of being let go, but it says nothing about your real performance, and definitely nothing about your actual value. Leadership is focused on finding the easiest and cheapest ways to push people out, whether it’s through reviews or some other pretext. The whole thing is just theatrics.

@OP yep! Just received my “met some expectations” when in reality I had a stellar year!! After a decade and promotion four years ago. They give you a low rating so they can hedge their bets. They want you to sit here until they are ready. Well, surprise, surprise. My plan is to leave this firm in my terms.
@d1 we absolutely have zero say and ratings were altered after being submitted. whats even more sc--wed up is that HR is saying we as your mgrs own those ratings. That is absolutely being challenged because if i did rate you what it shows, I dont own sh-t. Find who did do it and make them tell you why they touched them
I think people know that
People are worried because they know that being rated did not meets whether you deserve it or not means losing your job
Considering most managers have no say in the ratings and they are being driven by HR, these “reviews” hold absolutely NO value.46
Well said and goos to keep in mind
Exactly. You can't be on their hamster wheel forever.
