People are talking about this but I highly doubt there's any truth to it. Can anybody confirm something like this is in the works?

What happened to your raise is outlined here. A step by step guidance by Citi it seems.

This year will be brutal. Clearly communicated from top. They want people leave without severance. One way is to demotivate by average grades, lower bonus and raises. They see attrition rate is low for their advantage.
With inflation, we have a salary reduction every year.
I hate corporate America. Jane gets a massive bonus. Our stock price has skyrocketed. We are making a ton of money. Tons of promoted MDs
But F the employees
401k matches capped last year at 12k, lower bonus last year than year before and had a better review, I am sure it will be lower and spun that budget cuts because we want to spend the money on AI
Well when they promoted 276 directors to MDs this is their logic to hold onto and encourage people to stay. Even though most of those people are probably riding on the work, ideas, skills, and experience of their minions.
My manager should really not even be where they are but they are a super kiss a$$ and hangs with hire ups. So no surprise they get promotion after promotion. It is funny though that they look stupid when they cannot grasp stuff simple stuff in meeting (tech, finance, biz, everything!).
A raise you say? You’ve got to be kidding, right?
Citi, for its size and global presence bragging, is by far the cheapest company that I’ve ever even. They always take the cheapest route ever. The only thing that truly matters is that Jane got yet another 20 million added on to her already inflated salary. Never ever be under the delusion that Citi cares about you, they don’t.
They already cut HSA contributions by almost half.
Minimum to no pay increases, but more and more work.
We have been told that expectations should be low for both ratings and compensation.
Except for Jane of course. She got a 20+ million dollar boost in salary recently. So things are looking good for her of course. Just not for you and I. It’s the low man on the ladder who is not getting anything, she’s come out on top. So that’s good right?
Would not be surprised. Tbh, raises have been frozen for quite a while, given the inflation...
