Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel should have a union, It only take 3-4% from our whole yr salary

Most unions in healthcare and building services only charge 3% or 4% out of there year salary.
I have seen others at Intel fear mongering people by saying union takes 15%, no that's blant lie.

More like $200 a month and you will work 25-30% fewer hours so your hourly pay goes way up

More like 10-15% when you consider all the fees. Leeches.

There absolutely should be a Union at Intel to reduce how Intel treats its employees as cr-p. But Intel is full of kool aid drinking lapdogs so it won’t happen.

It won't happen, Cost isn't the issue.

It's the act that even a single dollar of most of people's pay going towards a union. Homosapiens are born greedy and selfish.

Also, managers dislike unions as it add layers of rules and scrutiny which slows things down and prevents them doing anything that is against the rules.

To see an Union like in police departments in Intel or semiconductor sector would be a miracle.

And what, exactly, would you get from that? The only ones that would benefit are those who have been there the longest.

As a current engineer in Foundry and a member of the Teamsters, this is a horribly bad idea. Also, when I was in a union shop, it was closer to 10% then 5%, so if you have different data please post a link.
