Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

This is nerve-wracking

Pardon my ignorance, I didn't start working here that long ago, but I'm wondering what will happen to the employees if/when there is bankruptcy?

I believe Having people in BoD pushing Avaya for BK for reasons that can be avoided is very unhealthy

You all are missing what is really going on. And it's certainly NOT that Genyses is better.
This is the only post that matters. Understand the wall Street game being played and then maybe you can help Avaya

Genesys bought Interactive Intelligence for the tech and then laid everyone off. They are a PE who has no idea what they are going. They can’t get anything they buy to work.

Genesys? You mean the guys who laid off 1,200 in October and EoL-ed over half of their portfolio? That employee-caring Genesys? No business cares for employees when they get in the way of investor profit.

Avaya's problems stem from their oudated and aged leaders and policies!! It's time to rid Avaya off all the old Bell and ATT employee group think and get back to making innovative products. Look at how well Genesys is doing and ask yourself ... why? Genesys is far more innovative and diverse than Avaya ever thought of being and they put their employees first. Get out of Avaya while you still can because they have shown they care NOTHING about their employees. Why else do mass Web layoffs with no notice and 4 weeks of severance regardless of time with the company?

In some countries, reasonable termination packages are mandated by law, often making it very expensive for Avaya to lay someone off in those locations. The US is not one of those locations. Take this into account when trying to decide whether you are vulnerable.

The executives and a few accounting people will get retention bonuses.

If we go into bankruptcy or not, it is clear there will be more cost cutting initiatives meaning more layoffs of employees.

There is no way around it unfortunately.
